There is a tiny human in my life (four years old, and very sweet) who is wide awake at 9pm.

Waiting for her best friend (me) to take her back to bed.

It’s unknown the origins of this excess late night energy she possesses.

I’m both annoyed that she’s awake and grateful to have more time with her, all in the same breath.

Isn’t life brilliant, how it opposes and contradicts itself?

Now, If you’ll excuse me: I have to go and give some Mummy cuddles.

xx Brooke

This was my daughter. Still is my daughter. I’d love to have just a little bit of the energy these little girls have. I’ll take any opportunity to tuck her in all over again, because the day she doesn’t need me anymore will be a sad one. Enjoy those mummy cuddles!

Oh, classic. 😂 They’re all very good at lingering, aren’t they? I’m sure I did it as a child, too. It’s sort of beautiful, really. 🥰 And oh my- I am already starting to get very emotional about this being my last little one. Her older siblings are out of the ‘little’ phase. It will slip away before we know it. Cue: must cherish these times, moment. xx

Little kids have an insane amount of energy, don’t they? Guess that’s why it’s become a rule to never give them sugar or chocolate before bed lol. Does your daughter like being read to? You could try reading her a really boring book.

She loves reading, I doubt she’d find any book boring. 😛
