We saw it last night, and whatever they say about its lack of connection to the book…it was provocative.

People don’t think of ourselves as animals. We like to see our thinky parts. Our kind parts, our in control parts.

But the rest is there, it just lives in the shadows.

Wuthering Heights seemed to open pandoras box and let it all out.

What a powerful movie. Not for its storyline, necessarily, but certainly for the quiet, eerie way it points to our primal qualities and maybe even our blindness to our darkness.

So shocking was the celebration during the execution scene at the beginning. But more shocking is the fact that humans celebrate each others down falls, in real life. A glance at the comment section on facebook will tell us that.

The movie gives you so much to think about.

A chance to open your eyes and see the world from a different angle.

It’ll have me thinking for a while to come, I think.

I’m not planning on seeing Wuthering Heights, since I like the book too much. But I’m glad you found it interesting.

I understand. It’s lovely that you’ve chosen to keep the book’s magic alive and untarnished in your heart and mind. xx
